Tereza Seabra

Tereza was born in 1944, she lives and works in Lisbon. Started her jewelry studies in the 70’s on Art Centre Y - Jewelry Department, with professor Thomas Gentille, and was his assistant in 1975. Works on both studios of Robert Kulicke and Hiroko Swornick, in New York City. Post-graduated in 1976 on Hochschule für Bildende Künste under the guidance of professor Almir Mavigner. At the same time she works on Gallery/Studio Silbermine headed by Michael Rheinlander in Hamburg.

When she returned to Lisbon, establishes the Jewelry Department on Ar.Co (Art and Communication Center) and has been responsible for it between 1978 and 2004. In 1984, she opens with Alexandra Serpa Pimentel and Pedro Cruz the first gallery of contemporary jewelry of Portugal: Artefacto3. Since 1998, she became the only responsible of the same gallery with her name, Galeria Tereza Seabra. She exhibits there regularly, solo or not, since 1975 in Portugal and around the world.
